Stephen Gale retained his singles title for the second successive year after beating Collin Holland 18-5 in the final.

Gale started the day with a convincing 16-2 win over Clare Holland, where Collin Holland started his route to the final with an 11-7 victory over Sylvia Maddrell. Elsewhere in the first round, Seamus Whelan overcame Jayne Kinley 13-3, Chris Holland beat Ann Hollingworth 7-5. Moira Anderson came back from 6-1 down to beat Peter Coward 10-6 and David Cottier won 12-8 against John Jauncey.

The second saw Gale come up against Jill Quayle and was 9-6 down before coming back to win 13-10. Collin Holland beat Seamus Whelan 14-9 and was always in control of the match, leading 9-1 at the half-way stage. Chris Holland beat newcomer James Teare 12-3. In the final game of the round, Moira Anderson needed an extra end to beat David Cottier, coming from 12-8 down to claim a 14-14 draw and win with a 3 on the extra end.

The semi-finals saw Gale play Anderson. Gale took an early 6-0 lead but still had to play well to avoid another fight back from Anderson and eventually came through 11-5. Collin Holland met Chris Holland in the other semi-final who were tied at 5-5 after five ends, however it was Collin who pulled away in the second half the match ending up 15-8.

The final between Holland & Gale was a close affair, with the score 4-3 in Gale's favour after 7 ends. A 3 for Gale on the 8th end allowed him some breathing space, and with Holland having to play more aggressive to make up the points, Gale countered to pull away, eventually ending up taking the Championship 18-5 for the third year in a row.

Next action returns to the penultimate game in the Cherry Orchard League. Leaders Castletown Southsiders play Laxey Minors, second placed Arbory Pirates meet Ballaugh. Ramsey Rebels will play Ronaldsway Blockbusters and Colby Cosmos are up against Castletown Super Threes.
