The Manx Short Mat Bowls Association was established in 1987. As the deadline for all teams to be submitted to the World Bowls Council, Isle of Man manager Seamus Whelan has confirmed his team for the 2016 World Championships in Leigh, England on the 18th – 20th March.
Collin Holland, Seamus Whelan, Michael Collister & Stephen Gale of the Douglas Sharks produced a dominant display in the final three games in the Haldane Fisher league to take the title from Ronaldsway Rockets.
Competitive short mat bowls got back underway after the flood damage to the NSC with the Haldane Fisher Fours League getting started at Ballaugh Bowls Club last Sunday, and after the first half of fixtures were completed it is Ronaldsway Rockets leading the way from Douglas Sharks.
The MSMBA committee met on Monday (7th December) night to discuss the changes to the calendar after the flood damage to the bowls hall at the NSC.
Due to the flooding at the National Sports Centre on Thursday night the MSMBA have cancelled this weeks fixtures in the Haldane Fisher Fours League.
We will provide an update for the Cherry Orchard League fixtures due to take place on the 13th December and rearrangements for the season as soon as we can.
