Sheila, Bernie & Steve Durcan claimed their first ever MSMBA Triples title after winning the round-robin event at the NSC on Sunday.

The Durcans went the day unbeaten, after coming through their first game against eventual runners-up Collin Holland, Seamus Whelan & Chris Holland by 8-7, thanks to a two on the final end. In their second game they claimed a vital point, this time with a single on the final end to tie the game against Zawar Hussain, Clare Hussain & Dave McCabe. They got another victory over Stephen Bradley, Richard Faragher & Tony Quine with an 11-5 win before wrapping up the title with a comfortable 17-1 win over John Garret, Mary Bailey & Percy Faragher.

Hollands side finished second after getting over the disappointment of losing their opening game they went on an impressive run of wins of 15-2, 20-1 and another 20-1.

Quines triples finished third thanks to an 8-6 victory over McCabes side which left them in fourth & Faraghers side in last place.
