Ronaldsway Blockbusters topped the table after the opening matches in the Cherry Orchard League with a convincing 7-0 win over Ballaugh A.

It was a solid start for the Blockbusters with Seamus Whelan & Collin Holland beating Stephen Bradley & Percy Faragher 21-2 in the pairs before Chris Holland won 13-6 over Patrick Grant. In the triples the Blockbusters maintained their 100% record with a 17-2 victory.

Erin Elite also recorded a 7-0 win over Castletown Oddballs. Shelia & Bernie Durcan beat Ali Millard & Clare Hussain 12-8. Steve Durcan then added the singles with a 14-4 victory over Zawar Hussain while in the triples Erin Elite ran out 9-3 victors to claim second spot.

Defending Champions Douglas Bay Pirates had to settle for a 5-2 victory over Ballaugh B with Pat Mason & Tony Quine winning the opening pairs game for the Ballaugh side 15-2 against John Garret and James Teare. Stephen Gale hit back for the Pirates though with a 30-1 win over Richard Faragher while the Pirates came through the triples 7-3 winners.
