Cherry Orchard League – Week Two

Ramsey Rebels continues their good early season form with a 5-2 over Laxey Minors.

Marie Ashurst & Peter Coward won the opening pairs for Laxey 11-10 but the Rebels hit back strongly with John Jauncey taking the singles 14-6 before teaming up with Jill Quayle & Moira Anderson to win the final triples game with a 13-3 victory.

Ballaugh enjoyed their first win of the season with a 5-2 victory over Castletown Super Threes. Ann Gale & Dave McTaggert won the pairs 18-7 for Ballaugh but Sylvia Maddrell leveled for the Super Threes with a 12-4 win in the singles. Ballaugh snatched the victory however, edging the triples game 8-7.

Douglas Bay Pirates had a tough day against Colby Cosmos, eventually coming through with a 5-2 win. Josh Ffrench & Jayne Smith took the opening pairs 14-6 for the Pirates but Ann Hollingworth won her singles with a superb 12-0 win. The Pirates were able to regroup and manged to win the triples 9-3 which ensured they took the bonus point in a closely fought battle.
