Action got underway last Sunday in the Peter Coward Pairs League with Ann Hollingworth & Sylvia Maddrell winning their opening 3 matches to take top spot.

Hollingworth & Maddrell got off to the perfect start, overcoming Seamus Whelan & Collin Holland 13-5 in their opening game. The second game was a much tighter affair with them taking taking the points on the final end to seal a 7-6 triumph over Bernie & Steven Durcan. They then kept their 100% record in tact thanks to a 14-8 victory over Matt Quayle & David Cottier.

Eddie Brew & Chris Holland lie in second place after beating James Teare & Harry Minor 15-5 and Ann Gale & Dave McTaggart 15-6, however they had to settle for a 10-10 draw against Michael Collister & Stephen Gale.

Seamus Whelan & Collin Holland responded well to their opening defeat with wins against Matt Quayle & David Cottier (12-8) and a superb 21-2 victory over James Teare & Harry Minor.
