Douglas Bay Pirates moved clear last Sunday in the Cherry Orchard League after a 7-0 win over Laxey Minors while Ballaugh moved up to second place after a 5-2 win over Colby Cosmos.
The Pirates got off to the best possible start with Michael Collister & Stephen Gale won the pairs 15-11 before Gale added another win with a fine 17-6 victory in the singles. The triples were much closer though, with the Pirates winning it on the final end 7-6 to take maximum points for the first time this season.
Ballaugh continued their good form with a 5-2 win over Colby Cosmos. Ann Gale & Dave McTaggart won the pairs 14-9. Rita Woodworth leveled for Cosmos with an 8-7 win in the singles. However Ballaugh took the triples with an impressive 8-5 win.
Ronaldsway Blockbusters recorded a 6-1 victory over an under strength Castletown Super Threes. The Pairs were tied with Archie & Wyn Collister drawing 9-9 with Peter Blower & Sylvia Maddrell. Collin Holland took the singles 8-1 before finishing with a 15-3 win in the triples.
