Cherry Orchard League – Week Three

Ronaldsway Blockbusters were the big winners in the final Cherry Orchard league meeting before the Christmas break with a 7-0 victory over Laxey Minors last Sunday.

The Blockbusters were in fine form with Wyn Collister & Collin Holland taking the opening pairs 17-5 and Chris Holland added the singles with an 8-6 victory. They completed the day with a 10-3 win in the triples and move up to third in the league.

Douglas Bay Pirates kept their lead at the top with a 5-2 over Ballaugh. It was Ballaugh who got off to the better start however, with Ann Gale & Dave McTaggart winning 12-6 in the pairs before Stephen Gale leveled the game after a 15-5 win his singles. The Pirates took the win with a 10-3 victory in the triples.

Colby Cosmos moves up to second place after a 5-2 win over Colby Jacks. Cosmos took the pairs after Carol Kaye & Rita Woodworth won 11-8 and Ann Hollingworth won her singles 16-5 but the Jacks hit back in the triples with Darrell Allcote, Eddie Brew & Sylvia Maddrell winning 16-3.

The Haldane Fisher Fours League will be the first meet of the new year on the 6th January.
