Quine & Gale through to MSMBA Singles Final

Tony Quine & Stephen Gale will face each other om the MSMBA Singles final next Sunday at the NSC at 3pm.

Quine came through the first round with a 19-1 victory over James Teare, while Gale beat Chris Holland 9-3. Richard Faragher also made it though beating Ali Millard 8-7 on the last end. Collin Holland got revenge on Bernie Durcan for beating him in the British Open earlier in the season with a 13-6 win. Seamus Whelan made it through thanks to an 11-10 win over Stephen Bradley and Josh Ffrench beat Sheila Durcan 8-5.

The quarter-finals saw Quine continue his good form with a 10-7 win over Zawar Hussain to set up a semi-final against Josh Ffrench after he came through 9-2 over Seamus Whelan. Gale meanwhile beat Collin Holland 9-8 and Richard Faragher recorded an impressive 9-7 victory over Jayne Smith.

The semi-finals saw Quine go down to the last end against Ffrench, with Ffrench just missing out on ditching the jack to lie counting 2 shots meant that Quine won 9-7. The other semi-final saw Gale beat Faragher 18-0.

The final is scheduled for 3pm at the NSC Bowls Hall next Sunday, It will be Quine’s first National Singles final while for Gale it will be his 9th.
