Douglas Sharks make impressive start in Haldane Fisher League

The Douglas Sharks got their defence of the Haldane Fisher Fours League off to a perfect start after winning the opening two games at the NSC last Sunday.

The opening rounds of games saw the defending Champions come up against a weakened Ballaugh 2 side but gave a good account of themselves despite being a player short with the Sharks eventually coming out as 10-2 victors. The other game saw Ballaugh 1 spring a surprise on the Ronaldsway Rockets, beating them 8-4.

The second round of games saw the Sharks survive a late comeback from Tears for Fears. After leading 5-1 Tears for Fears fought back to only lose 6-5 on the tightest of measures. Meanwhile Ballaugh 2 didn’t let the numerical disadvantage stop them from beating local rivals Ballaugh 1 9-8.
