The Douglas Sharks started their defense of the Haldane Fisher Fours League in impressive fashion after winning 2 and drawing 1 of the opening three matches.

The opening match saw them narrowly beat Northern Lights 8-7 on the tightest of measures on the final end while last seasons runners-up Tears for Fears lost 7-4 to Jolly Bodies.

Next up the Douglas Sharks faced Jolly Bodies and came through with a 6-2 win. Tears for Fears got their campaign up & running with a 12-4 victory over Northern Lights.

The final match of the day was the closest with Douglas Sharks & Tears for Fears playing out a 5-5 draw thanks to a wonder bowl from Bernie Durcan on the final end to get what could be a crucial point for Tears for Fears. Jolly Bodies had to concede their match to the Northern Lights.
