Bernie & Steve Durcan got their defence of the Peter Coward Pairs League off to a perfect start by winning their opening 3 matches at the NSC on Sunday.

The defending champions got off to a flyer with a 16-4 victory over James Teare & Stephen Bradley before a 12-6 win over Archie & Wyn Collister. They finished the day with an 18-2 win over Ali Millard who fought valiantly throughout the day on her own as her playing partner was ill.

Hot on their tails are Micahel Collister & Stephen Gale who also won all their matches. They started with a 21-2 victory over Ali Millard before beating Seamus Whelan & Collin Holland 10-5 and then beating Rita Woodworth & Sylvia Maddrell by the same scoreline.

There area host of pairs who find themselves on 6 points after claiming 2 wins. Seamus Whelan & Collin Holland, Clare Hussain & Chris Holland, Richard Faragher & Tony Quine and newcomers Patrick Grant & Dave McCabe also claimed an impressive 2 wins.
