The first week of the Peter Coward Pairs League got underway last Sunday at the NSC with Seamus Whelan & Colling Holland and Matthew Keggen & Stephen Gale winning their opening games to top the table.

Whelan & Holland started with an impressive 17-7 win against Richard Faragher & Dave McTaggart before coming from behind at 6-8 to beat Matt Quayle & David Cottier 18-9.

Keggen & Gale had a relatively routine win over Archie & Wyn Collister coming out 13-6 winners. Their second game against Josh Ffrench & Jayne Smith was a tighter affair with the teams level at 9-9 with two ends to go. Gale & Keggen prevailed however running out 13-9 victors.

Eddie Brew & Chris Holland are in third place after an opening win of 20-9 against Quayle & Cottier. Their second game went to the wire against Ann Hollingworth & Ann Gale but it was Hollingworth & Gale who took the points with a 12-11 win.
