Seamus Whelan & Collin Holland extended their lead at the top of the Peter Coward Pairs League last Sunday at the NSC after maintaining their 100% record with two hard fought victories.

The leaders first win was a 16-10 victory against Ann Hollingworth & Rita Woodworth. They had opened up an 8-3 lead but Hollingworth & Woodworth came back to only trail by two, however Whelan & Holland held their nerve to run out as victors. Their second game saw them come from behind against Josh Ffrench & Jayne Smith. After trailing 5-2 they won six ends ion a row to lead 10-5. Ffrench & Smith tried to fight back but the league leaders ended up 11-9 winners.

Eddie Brew & Chris Holland moved up to second place with a 11-9 win in their first game against Ffrench & Smith and then playing superbly to leapfrog Matthew Keggen & Stephen Gale 17-9 after finishing with 9 shots on the final 4 ends. Keggen & Gale stayed in contention after winning their first game against Richard Faragher & Dave McTaggart  16-11.

Elsewhere Ann Hollingworth & Rita Woodworth moved upto 4th place after recording the biggest won of the day with a 22-4 victory while Matt Quayle & David Cottier also moved up a place to 6th after two wins of 15-8 and 15-6.
