Stephen Gale & Steve Durcan picked up where they left off last season with 2 wins each in the new Chied Rheynn (First Division) Singles League, while Peter Johnson sets the pace in the Nah Reynn (Second Division).
It was Durcan who got off to a good start in the opening session, picking up a 13-3 victory over Seamus Whelan, before going on to pip Jayne Smith 7-5 with Smith missing with her last bowl. Meanwhile Gale got off to flier with a 18-3 win over Harry Minor before beating Chris Holland 17-2. Chris Holland did pick up a win thanks to an 18-1 win over Sheila Durcan while Collin Holland also recorded a win, 9-7 over Jayne Smith.
In the newly formed Nah Rheynn, Peter Johnson is setting an impressive early pace with a 21-1 win over Gordon Drinkwater and then followed that up with a 19-1 victory over Peter McKenna. It looks like a close chase though with Michael Corlett beating Bernie Durcan 11-9 but Durcan then beat Zawar Hussain 10-7, while Hussain himself recorded a 19-3 win over Heather McKenna with Lynda Cadamy also on 3 points after a 7-6 win over Peter McKenna.
Next week will finish with all players having played 3 games each as we approach the half way mark.
