Douglas Bay Pirates Clinch Cherry Orchard Title

Douglas Bay Pirates successfully defended their Cherry Orchard title after beating second place Ronaldsway Blockbusters 5-2.

Starting the day 4 points clear the Pirates knew they only need to claim one win to wrap up the title and did it thanks to captain Stephen Gale, who beat Chris Holland 11-10 in the singles. Blockbusters did manage to win the pairs thanks to Seamus Whelan & Collin Holland beating Jayne Smith & Michael Collister 11-10. The triples went to the champions with a 9-5 victory.

Ballaugh B took third spot after beating Erin Elite 5-2. Pat Mason & Tony Quine continued their impressive partnership by beating Sheila & Bernie Durcan 9-7. Dave McCabe levelled the match for the Port Erin side with a 12-6 victory over Richard Faragher but Ballaugh B took the triples 9-3 to claim the bonus point and a 5-2 win.

Castletown Oddballs finished their season with a 5-2 win over Ballaugh. James Teare & Clare Hussain won the pairs with an 11-8 victory over Stephen Bradley & Percy Faragher and Zawar Hussain took the singles after beating John Garret 18-5. Ballaugh did end with a win though, taking the triples 9-7.
