In the second open drawn competition of the season at Ballaugh Bowling Club, Mary Bailey & Tony Quine took the Pairs competition from Collin Holland & Stephen Gale.

With 5 pairs entered, Bailey & Quine sat out the opening round of matches while Holland & Gale recorded a 15-3 victory over Ali Millard & Dave Thompson. Patrick Grant & Chris Holland won 9-3 against John Garret & Richard Faragher.

Bailey & Quine’s opening game saw them up again Holland & Gale and played superbly to win 9-7 having been in control throughout the game. The other mat saw Grant & Holland keep their hopes alive with an 8-3 win over Millard & Thompson.

The third round of games saw Bailey & Quine beat Garret & Faragher 10-3 while Holland & Gale beat Grant & Chris Holland 12-3. Next up saw Bailey & Quine come through a close game against Grant & Holland 8-6 with Millard & Thompson recorded their first win with a 6-4 victory Garret & Faragher.

The final round of games saw Bailey & Quine wrap up the competition with a 12-3 victory over Millard & Thompson while Holland & Gale secured second spot with a 14-2 win over Garret & Faragher.

Next week is the final open competition which will be drawn at Ballaugh Bowls Club at the later time of 12:30pm.
