Ronaldsway Rockets stayed top of the Freeway Express Championship last Sunday with an 11-6 victory over Colby Cosmos.

Dave McTaggert & Collin Holland got the Rockets off to a good start, taking their pairs game 12-6, however Ann Hollingworth & Rita Woodworth won their pairs 16-4 for Cosmos. The Rockets edged in front during the singles games with Ann Gale (7-6), Collin Holland (7-5) both winning. Dave McTaggert & Rita Woodworth tied 9-9 in their game with David Cottier winning 8-3 for the Cosmos in his singles game. The final game saw the Rockets wrap up the match with a 7-5 win in the fours.

In the other match, Rushen also won 11-6 against Port Erin Blockbusters. Rushen started off winning both pairs with Richard Faragher & Seamus Whelan winning 10-4 and Peter Coward & Stephen Gale coming through 9-8. The singles were shared after Seamus Whelan (11-9) and Stephen Gale (16-2) took the points for Rushen and Josh Ffrench (107) and Archie Collister (11-6) getting the Blockbusters first wins of the day. The fours game saw the sides draw 9-9 after excellent bowls from both teams, meaning Rushen ran out 11-6 winners.

Next week is the 2 Bowl Pairs with Josh Ffrench & Stephen Gale will be hoping to defend their title.
