Chris Holland & John Jauncey moved to the top of the pairs league last Sunday after winning all three matches at the NSC.

Michael Collister & Stephen Gale, who started the day as leaders dropped their first points after a closely fought 7-7 draw with Peter Coward & David Cottier. Holland & Jauncey took full advantage with an 11-6 victory over Matt Quayle & Sylvia Maddrell. Ann Gale & Dave McTaggart also kept themselves in touch with a 10-8 win over Jill Quayle & Moira Anderson while Seamus Whelan & Collin Holland had an impressive 20-5 win against Ann Hollingworth & Rita Woodworth.

The second round of games saw Holland & Jauncey continue their winning streak with an 11-8 victory over Quayle & Anderson. Collister & Gale quickly got back to winning ways with a 15-3 win over Archie & Wyn Collister. Hollingworth & Woodworth got their first win of the campaign with a 13-9 victory against Cottier & Coward while Whelan & Holland continued their impressive form with a 19-4 win against Quayle & Maddrell.

The final round of the day saw Holland & Jauncey score their biggest win, 18-3 over Gale & McTaggart while Hollingworth & Woodworth also won big with a 21-5 win over the Collisters. Whelan & Holland kept their run going with an 11-6 win against Quayle & Anderson while Coward & Cottier beat Quayle & Maddrell 16-8.
